The Lyre of Alpha Chi Omega, Vol. 56, No. 4, May 1953
A Flying Alpha Chi Family
Even in this air-borne age the LYRE's cover-family, the Scotts of
Los Altos, Calif., is unusual. With the five "stair step" daughters
lined up at "company salute," the Scotts are about to take off on an
around-the-world trip by air. Mom of the Scott family is the former
Mary Owen Dean III, of Rho chapter, University of Washington
(Seattle). Daddy is Capt. L. D. (Dick) Scott, of Pan American
Airlines. The daughters are (from the left) Polly, Midge, Bonnie,
Dicksy, and Laurie. Mrs. Scott is a member of the Palo Alto alum-
nae club-active between travels! For the story of the global air-
cruise of the "flighty Scotts," as told by Mary Dean Scott herself,
see page 3.
