THE RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF ETA CHAPTER AT
BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY
W
ITH the reestablishment of Eta Chapter at Bucknell Univer-
sity, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, April 1 and 2, 1921, Alpha Chi
Omega again completes her chapter roll, which now shows an
unbroken list of the chapters established since her founding thirty-six
years ago. The original chapter was installed in 1898, the charter being
surrendered in 1904 because of the fact that sufficient support for the
chapter was not at that time possible in the university. The present
group, whose petition for the restablishment of the chapter was granted
in February has been inspected twice by national officers of the fraternity
and have been most heartily recommended by members of the faculty
and other fraternities at Bucknell. It is with more than the usual
pleasure that we bid welcome to the new chapter-new, yet old-and
extend to each the privileges of the fraternity.
We regret that this number of THE LYRE goes to press too early to
enable us to include a description of the actual events attending the
reestablishment of Eta Chapter. Alumnx and other installing officers
who are planning to make the occasion a gala one are as follows:
Gladys Livingston Graff, National President, Brookline, Mass. ; Beatrice
Herron Brown, Province President, New York City; Belle Bartol, H,
Lewisburg, Pa.; Mary Wood Kerstetter, H, Lewisburg, Pa.; Amy
Gilbert Allison, H, Elysburg, Pa. ; Annie May Cook, z, Cambridge,
Mass. Ethel Moore Miller, A, Meadville, Pa.; Josephine Lee Meek, A,
Harrisburg, Pa.; Ruth Titus, A, Meadville, Pa.; Edna Fulton, A E,
Philadelphia, Pa.
The cordial welcome given to the new chapter by both the faculty and
the members of men's and women's fraternities at Bucknell has been
greatly appreciated. It is the hope of Alpha Chi Omega that it may
add something worth while to the university life.
