Mildred Estabrook Scott (Pi, University of California, Berkeley) serves as National President from 1949-53. When questioned about the relevance of fraternities in the post-war era, she stated: "Most colleges are too dependent on them for housing, group activities, campus leadership, cultural stimulation and scholastic achievement to do away with them."
